Second Light Candle Bar is owned by a mom and son duo who had their first business together 15 yrs ago, a small candle shop. This time around they’re making everything by hand and showing you how!

Nestled in the historic Monticello Motel, Second Light Candle Bar is bringing apothecary goods and candle making to rural Iowa.

Take a guided workshop for yourself and up to 13 others. You can also enjoy the space solo with a self-guided workshop, including written instructions and a video guide. If you’re an experienced chandler you may bring in your own new or used (cleaned) vessels to refill your candles with our supplies!
